The choice of correct solution for rotating machinery is normally based on rotational speed, possible gear ratio, outgoing torque and whether the machine has frequent stops/starts.
For machines with frequent stops/starts there is normally a need for isolators with high damping, whereas isolators for machines running at a constant rotational speed is chosen to maximize vibration isolation (thus less damping).
