View of the components making up the Vibratec's ceiling system VT-MSH. The spring isolator has a natural frequency between 4-5 Hz which greatly reduces vibrations and unwanted noise. This example of a suspended ceiling has three layers of gypsum boards.

Ceiling System VT-MSH

The ceiling system VT-MSH is designed as an acoustic suspended ceiling to mitigate air borne noise and impact sound. The spring isolator delivers a very low natural frequency of 4-5 Hz. The hanger can be both top- or side mounted. It is used together with Vibratecs click-on hangers and profiles but it can also be used as it is for hanging equipment such as speakers, pipes or ventilation.

Product Characteristics

An excellent feature of acoustic ceiling system VT-MSH is that the elastic hanger can be back mounted as well as top mounted. Back mounting the hanger on a floor joist will greatly reduce the build height. When a bigger air gap is needed, threaded rods can be used instead of bolts.

Using elastically suspended ceiling systems is a great way to reduce unwanted noise between floors in buildings. These acoustic suspended ceilings must also be de-coupled from surrounding walls by using for instance self adhesive elastic strip VT-Strip.

Screws, threaded bars, click-ons and ceiling profiles are not a part of the product but can be included if a complete ceiling system is required.

Product Applications

Paired with Vibratecs’ click-on hangers and profiles:

  • acoustic suspension of ceilings

Without click on hangers and profiles:

  • Speakers
  • Pipes
  • Ventilation

Note
For beam structures, back mounting of the hangers could reduce the total height of the system.
