Silencer ADS25 – FP-Series
Product Characteristics
Absorptive silencers reduce noise by converting sound energy into heat through porous materials such as mineral wool or fiberglass. They are known for being effective at medium to high frequencies, having low pressure drop, and are commonly used in ventilation systems, industrial fans, compressors, and exhaust systems.
Connections
1,5” to 3”, B:S:P: nipple connetion
3,5” to 7”, flanges acc.to DIN2573 (PN6)
8” and larger, flanges acc.to DIN86044
Material and finish
Standard material: mild steel with black heat-resistant paint.
Other materials upon request: Cor-Ten or Stainless Steel in grades 304L, 316L & 409
Additional options
Alternative configurations are available on request, including mating flange assemblies, lifting lugs, and support feet for both horizontal and vertical installations.
Product Applications
Absorptive silencers with a design that provides very low restriction to exhaust gases, thus back pressure is negligible. Silencers of this type may also be used as secondary units on systems using reactive primary silencers.
Key features and benefits:
- Straight-through design: Typically designed as “straight-through,” meaning minimal restriction of airflow.
- Applications: Ideal for industrial inlets and outlets, such as fans, blowers, and combustion engines.
- Materials: Use sound-absorbing fillings (mineral wool, fiberglass), often encapsulated to protect against high velocities and temperatures.
- Performance: Most effective at attenuating high-frequency noise.
Difference from other silencers:
Unlike reactive silencers, which reflect sound waves, absorptive silencers dissipate the sound energy, resulting in a broader attenuation spectrum at higher frequencies.
