Regufoam pads improving sound comfort in modular buildings

Vibration and noise in
modular construction

In modular construction, controlling vibration and impact sound between units is a key challenge. Even small vibrations can travel through the structure and cause unwanted structure-borne noise.

Vibratec Akustikprodukter supplies Regufoam pads to Häggmarks Byggmodul, where they are used as impact sound insulation between modules.
The pads are made from a high-performance polyurethane material that combines elasticity, durability, and load-bearing capacity, making them ideal for use in modular connections.

By reducing vibrations that cause structure-borne noise, Regufoam pads help to ensure a quieter, more comfortable, and longer-lasting building structure.

This solution is applied in several modular projects, for example, in the Acasa Bostad development in Oxelösund, featuring 82 rental apartments built with prefabricated modules.

Smart vibration isolation meets modern timber construction – REGUFOAM vibration was chosen for Vida Building’s latest project

In lightweight constructions like timber, it’s especially important to address vibrations early in the design process, as sound travels more easily than in heavier structures.

The Importance of Building Base Isolation in an Urban Environment

This is more of a case study than a news post. Here we want to explain the importance of optimising a floor to meet the requirement of noise and vibrations through a building to ensure a better working and living environment for the tenants.
