Vibration Isolation for Modular Buildings in Älmsta

Vibratec has supplied vibration isolation for a new residential development in Älmsta, Sweden, where 88 rental apartments are being built using prefabricated modules from Häggmark byggmodul.

Vibration isolation between the modules

Elastic pads are installed between the modules to reduce vibrations and structure-borne noise through the building structure.

During a recent site visit, we had the opportunity to follow the installation as the prefabricated modules were lifted into position. The red vibration isolation pads can be seen at the top of the modules before the next module is placed above.

Modular timber construction

The project is a great example of how vibration isolation can be integrated into modular timber construction to improve acoustic performance.
